Embroidery

A Solitary Practice

Embroidery - work in progress
Concept and Execution

Using the traditional half-stitch technique, traditionally used to depict themes such as bucolic landscapes and floral motifs, the work portrays scenes of masturbation of people with vaginas.

By positioning the hands as the protagonists of these two practices, the work redefines the gesture considered "feminine" of embroidery and the experience of solitary pleasure.
